Laduree Inspired Guest Dessert Feature

Laduree recently opened in New York City. There are always lines out the door and if you have ever eaten one of their tasty treats, you would understand why. This Laduree-inspired photo shoot was sent to us by Azar from Principal Planner. To pay homage to the mecca of  macarons, they tied in elements of the luxury brand by bringing in look-alike cookies, pastries, and of course, macarons. We love the gilded frames against the…

Mermaid Guest Dessert Feature

This sweet mermaid table was sent to us by Debbie of Wants and Wishes. She created this party for her niece who has an obsession with mermaids at the moment. To capture the sea theme and make each guest feel as though they were a mermaid, Debbie cascaded seaweed and blue beads from the ceiling with glitter filled seaweed and plants. A large starfish served as the focal point on the table. Sweet treats included…

Vintage Candy Buffet Guest Dessert Feature

This party was sent to us by Michelle at The Social Event Company, which was styled by her partner Jacky. This table would be great for a masculine birthday party, corporate event, or an event for a photographer. Jacky used chocolate brown as her focus for the dessert bar. She gave the table a rustic feel by using vintage cameras and trunks. Jacky filled mason jars with Cracker Jacks and jewelry boxes with decadent cake…

We are always up for a mani/pedi at the Amy Atlas office. We thought this “Mani & Pedi Spa party” was so cute and had to share it with you. After all, everyone needs to be pampered, right? This featured submission was sent to us by Nicole at One Magic Day. Using her first printable party collection, she styled this party for a little girl’s 8th birthday party. Nicole chose a palette reminiscent of the…

This Little Red Riding Hood shoot was sent to us by Thetis from Little Sooti Events. For her daughter Lola’s 1st birthday, Renee chose a bright and feminine color palette of hot pink and lime green while keeping a shabby chic farm theme. She created two tables. Fashion Accessories Collection with Wrigley {Recipe}

We hope you were here yesterday to check out our A-line shift cookie collection made using Wrigley products.  Here are some more fun ideas for using gum and candy for decorating sweets for fashion week, an awards show, or for a treat for someone who simply loves fashion. We used Wrigley gum, Life Savers®, and Skittles® to create a quilted purse, studded cuff, and bling-y ring.  Since gum is malleable, it is easy to turn…

Red Carpet Cookies with Wrigley {Recipe}

Since we’re all talking fashion today after last night’s Golden Globes Awards, we thought I’d share a fun project we did for Wrigley.
As you may have seen here and here, we’ve partnered with Wrigley to show candy fans, party stylists, and DIY’ers everywhere how Wrigley gum and candy can be used in many other fun or delicious ways. When we first received all of the Wrigley products, one of the first things that came…

Pink Black & White Guest Dessert Feature

This table was sent to us by Belinda of Styled by Belle….  For her client Melissa’s 21st birthday, the ladies chose a bold yet glamorous theme using the colors pink, black and white.  The bold striped tablecloth was softened by the curves of the candy jars, candelabras and pom poms. Cardboard chandeliers gracefully fell from the white  marquee alongside fairy lights for an extra dash of elegance. The two tiered quilted cake stood tall

Around the Atlas: Brazil

This “Around the Atlas” is from Brazil and was created by Luciana of Atelie Festejar for the birthday party of her two sons. She wanted to have a theme that they would both enjoy and came up with a toy theme. We often hear from readers that is hard to find products in Brazil and other countries that we can get so easily in the US. This was the case for Luciana so she decided…

Jungle Baby Shower Guest Dessert Feature

Kim White from Two’s A Party! created this jungle baby shower for a friend who is having a boy. We think the palette is very chic for a boy’s party. The orange, blue, green, and brown stripes gave this table just the right amount of style cred for a modern and masculine vibe. We also love how the giraffe printables are styled with the cupcakes!  Kim teamed up with Simply Layered Cake Designs to create…

These sweet and savory circus tables were sent to us by Stephanie of Spaceships and Laser Beams. She created this table for New Year’s Eve, but it would be great for many occasions. Stars filled with yarn poms were used for the backdrop {fantastic!} and a “Step Right Up!” banner invited guests to dine. Guests were offered roasted pepper salad, potato rounds, tomato schiacciata, and a squash/lentil tourtiere to bring in good luck for the…

Whimsical Guest Dessert Feature

It is rainy in NYC today and this dreamy shoot from Aleishia from Pretty My Love is cheering us up. To create a whimsical feel, Aleishia used a vintage desk for the sweets table and a Pepsi crate for the favors. She filled apothecary jars with candy to give the table a light and airy feel. We love the pretty pink lemonade in the apothecary jar dispenser.  Sweet treats included cake in a jar, coconut…

Little Man Guest Dessert Feature {with Caramel Pretzel Cheesecake Shooter Recipe}

When this featured submission popped up in our inbox, it put a huge smile on my face. As a mother to two boys, I’m always referring to them as “My Little Men”.  Although I’m not the biggest fan of the “moustache trend” that we saw in 2011, this table by Gretchen from Three Little Monkeys Studio was done just right! Ever since her son was born, Gretchen and her husband have always called their son…

The beachfront venue, The Boat House in Sydney Palm Beach, was the perfect setting for the event. Dewi chose a romantic palette of pinks, greens and neutrals, and accessorized the dessert table with pink peonies, milk glass stands and burlap. It worked so well with the…

Tea Party Guest Dessert Feature

As a reminder, today is the last day to enter the Matthew Robbins giveaway.  We will pick a winner this evening. We thought this submission from Alecia at Boutique Affairs was a great example of how to design an event using heirlooms and favorite objects. Vintage brooches made every day desserts look enchanting. The party was inspired by the beautiful soft lace and detailed head pieces of a clothing store in Australia called The Tea…
