Goodbye 2011, Hello 2012 and Thank You {and news about Book}

By: Amy Atlas, in Amy's Latest, Behind The Scenes

My boys cake decorating…quality time with my family is one of my resolutions. How about you?

2011 has been a pretty incredible year. The Amy Atlas team was busy with many projects including our Wrigley project {stay tuned for more}, our parties, several Sweet Designs posts a day, and of course THE book.

I say THE book because it really was a beast to produce. One of the things I’m looking most forward to in 2012 is sharing the book with you in April. In January, we’ll be doing a cover reveal with Amazon and Barnes and Noble and it will be the first real peek that you guys get to see.  I get so excited at just the notion of sharing it with you.  At the moment, I’m in Florida with my family and at night I’ve been poring over the second pass pages of the book. If you’re not familiar, second pass is when an author gets to see the fully designed and copyedited book for the second round before going to press. With over 380 pages and 270 photos, it is a visual feast for the eyes and chock full of baking, crafting, and party styling tips.  I can honestly say that this book is like no other and is the best work I’ve ever done.  I am so proud of my team for making something that I believe you will all love.

Another thing I’m looking forward to is enjoying time with my family {like my little love bugs above} and appreciating all of the good things that have come my way.  I think the hardest thing for us ambitious and creative people is to stop and reflect, right?  I made a resolution last year to do it more and I’m keeping with it for 2012. I’m with my family now {as is everyone from the team} and Sweet Designs will be offline until 2012 so we can all enjoy time with our families.  Have no fear, we’ve left you with lots of inspiration {11 posts today alone!}  in case you need some while we’re away.  We hope you have a wonderful holiday and get to spend time with your loved ones.

Last, I’m hoping that next year we can mix up our posts with a combination of behind the scenes, videos, sweet talk interviews, and all of our other features in the New Year. If there is something you want to see in 2012, please share below.  We look forward to continuing the “sweet journey” with you all in 2012.  xoxo-Amy and team.

    Hi Amy, Happy New Year! Bringing out your book will definitely make 2012 a year to remember. I think I would like to see from the guest dessert tables with more of your assesments, suggestions and comments on the design element of the dessert tables. At the beginning of your blog, you did this quite a bit with featured submissions. I think it would help the people who send in their dessert tables, but also help your readers that want to make their own dessert tables but are looking to learn more from you, the Queen of Dessert Tables, and hear more of your voice in the postings:)

  • So VERY excited for your book! I will have to pre-order a dozen copies, I want to make sure I can get one for everyone I love! (Its never to early for stocking stuffers you know?!)
