Goodbye 2011, Hello 2012 and Thank You {and news about Book}

My boys cake decorating…quality time with my family is one of my resolutions. How about you? 2011 has been a pretty incredible year. The Amy Atlas team was busy with many projects including our Wrigley project {stay tuned for more}, our parties, several Sweet Designs posts a day, and of course THE book. I say THE book because it really was a beast to produce. One of the things I’m looking most forward to in

Behind the Scenes: Crafting with Michaels on Anderson

About a month ago, I worked with Michaels on a fun crafting project with kids and moms on Anderson. While the crafting project was for Thanksgiving, I think many of you can do the same craft with your kids for the last days of Chanukah and Christmas. A little about the segment…I’m sure many of you know, but Anderson Cooper has a new daytime talk show and it is fabulous. Anderson had a Thanksgiving special which aired…

Into the Mist-Ic with Sierra Mist Natural & Giveaway

By: Amy, in Recipes, Swag
We love this time of year for many reasons. New York City, with all it’s spectacle, takes our breath away. Also, we get to entertain…a lot! So when we were asked by Sierra Mist to come up with recipe ideas, we did not hesitate to say yes. We had a lot of fun creating the drink recipes. Last week, we showed you two fun cocktail/mocktail recipes to whet your appetite. Today, we are back…

3-2-1 Happy New Year!  This glitzy New Years Eve themed table was sent to us by Sharnel of Sharnel Dollar Designs. Geared for a a girls’ night out, the desserts were glammed up with edible glitter and luster dust.  The use of circular shapes throughout the table is reminiscent of the confetti that we all know and love about the New Year.  The desserts included a confetti cake, cookies, cupcakes from The Lemony Cupcake and individual strawberry…

Natalie’s Sweet Holiday Wish List

We’re putting up some more wish lists from the Amy Atlas team today.  This one is from Natalie and reflects her indie chic style. Her real wish for the New Year is the following….”2012 is going to be a year of transitions for me…graduating school, relocating, traveling abroad, and starting new and exciting projects that follow my passions.  My wish for 2012 is to soak up every good (and not so good) moment…

Around the Clock Guest Dessert Feature

As the clock ticks closer to New Years, we wanted to share some New Year’s inspiration that came our way. A clock-themed party could be great for ringing in the New Year. We could see clocks with all different times of the year as different countries ring in the New Year.  This table was sent to us by Marina of Marina Guimarães all the way from Brazil. For her friend’s son’s 1st birthday party, she…

Dreaming of a (Red &) White Christmas Guest Dessert Feature

Today is our last day of posting for the holidays and we are starting it off with this beautiful red and white dessert table styled by Natalie in Sydney. She created this table for a pre-Christmas party for her friends and family. The star of the table was the snowflake meringue Christmas tree that Natalie made. White paper lanterns hung from the ceiling to resemble falling snow. Sweet treats included cake pops, cotton candy…

Vintage Circus Guest Dessert Feature

We’re not the biggest fans of circus parties, but we think this French vintage take on the traditional circus theme is pretty chic. Michelle from Social Event Planning Co used red and black to show off thick striped and polka dot patterns. Sweet treats included circus staples such as red candy apples, cotton candy and lollipops, as well as donut pops and Bakerella-inspired cake pops. We love the popcorn topiaries and think they were the…

Beautiful Birthday Bash Guest Feature

This gorgeous table was sent to us by Renee from About A Bug.  For her own 30th birthday, Renee chose a feminine pink and turquoise color palette. Renee hung fairy lights throughout the roof installed by Velvet Lily, and created tassel garlands to decorate the furniture. Oversized balloons, romantic floral arrangements and gilded picture frames gave this table some extra glamour. We love the confetti garland on the dessert tags and candy bars. That design…
