My boys cake decorating…quality time with my family is one of my resolutions. How about you?
2011 has been a pretty incredible year. The Amy Atlas team was busy with many projects including our Wrigley project {stay tuned for more}, our parties, several Sweet Designs posts a day, and of course THE book.
I say THE book because it really was a beast to produce. One of the things I’m looking most forward to in …

Behind the Scenes: Crafting with Michaels on Anderson

About a month ago, I worked with Michaels on a fun crafting project with kids and moms on Anderson. While the crafting project was for Thanksgiving, I think many of you can do the same craft with your kids for the last days of Chanukah and Christmas.
A little about the segment…I’m sure many of you know, but Anderson Cooper has a new daytime talk show and it is fabulous. Anderson had a Thanksgiving special…

We love this time of year for many reasons. New York City, with all it’s spectacle, takes our breath away. Also, we get to entertain…a lot! Around the Clock Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids

As the clock ticks closer to New Years, we wanted to share some New Year’s inspiration that came our way. A clock-themed party could be great for ringing in the New Year. We could see clocks with all different times of the year as different countries ring in the New Year.  This table was sent to us by Marina of Marina Guimarães all the way from Brazil. For her friend’s son’s 1st birthday party, she…

Today is our last day of posting for the holidays and we are starting it off with this beautiful red and white dessert table styled by Natalie in Sydney. Vintage Circus Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids

We’re not the biggest fans of circus parties, but we think this French vintage take on the traditional circus theme is pretty chic. Michelle from Social Event Planning Co used red and black to show off thick striped and polka dot patterns. Sweet treats included circus staples such as red candy apples, cotton candy and lollipops, as well as donut pops and Bakerella-inspired cake pops. We love the popcorn topiaries and think they were the…

Beautiful Birthday Bash Guest Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions

This gorgeous table was sent to us by Renee from About A Bug.  For her own 30th birthday, Renee chose a feminine pink and turquoise color palette. Renee hung fairy lights throughout the roof installed by Velvet Lily, and created tassel garlands to decorate the furniture. Oversized balloons, romantic floral arrangements and gilded picture frames gave this table some extra glamour. We love the confetti garland on the dessert tags and candy bars. That design…

Gingerbread House Guest Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids

Nothing is better than decorating gingerbread houses on a cold winter day. This party was sent to us by Nicole of Tradewind Tiaras. Instead of a dessert table, Nicole created a candy display for decorating the gingerbread houses. An assortment of decorating candy was displayed in colorful boxes with tags from Frog Prince Paperie. Do you see the cool backdrop? …It is made of painted and cut Styrofoam to depict snowy hills.  The houses, snowmen

Pink & Yellow Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids

This pink & yellow submission was sent to us by Sarah from Lil Hoot. Sarah created this birthday party for her twin daughters Phoebe and Charlotte, and wanted each of their personalities to be reflected.  The twins had just learned to talk and were frequently saying ‘I like pink!’ and ‘I like yellow,” so it seemed fitting to have a pink & yellow party!  A two-sided invitation was created which invited the guests to Phoebe’s…

Thetis’ guests were given a packed picnic lunch which included marinated olives, cheese, bread and vino. Sweet treats included mini pies, vanilla cupcakes, sugar buns, yo-yos and cake pops. We love that Thetis used mostly store bought desserts and dressed them up to give them a homemade feel. The…
