Golden Indian Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions

The warmth of this party transported us to India.  Deanna of Mirabelle Creations created this for a party for her in laws 50th anniversary party. Deanna chose an Indian theme to embrace their heritage.  The color scheme included gorgeous jewel tones of ruby red, peacock, midnight blue and royal purple.  Deanna used her own wedding sari for the tablecloth. Signage of elephants, as well as lotus flowers, the national flower of India, were seen throughout the décor. All printables were crafted by Deanna and her daughter. Mason jars were decorated with gold puff paint to resemble Indian lanterns. Guests dined on traditional Indian cuisine and sweets like Ras Malai, Jalabi, cranberry chai cupcakes, Indian spiced krispie treats and coconut truffles. To keep the children entertained, they were given Mandala coloring pages that doubled as placemats. Deanna also set up a heritage table where guests could write reasons to celebrate her parents. This was given to her parents at the end of the evening. Guests did not leave empty handed either. Adults were given floral pins and children were given homemade chocolate elephants dusted in gold.
