Somewhere Over the Rainbow Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids

It is a rainy day in New York City today and this put a little sunshine into our day. We have seen many rainbow submissions this year. This one came to us from Simone at Invite Me. Simone styled the party for her daughter’s 4th birthday. The party was planned for outdoors and true to the theme, the skies opened and it started to pour. Simone had to scramble to get everything inside and managed to pull it off beautifully. Our favorite detail is that candy tile cake. What a huge impact colorful candy has on a plain ‘ole white buttercream cake!  We love the billowy cloud cupcakes, Technicolor cake pops, rainbow jello, and Colour Me Happy chocolate. Notice how the rainbow of colors stand out because Simone used crisp white vessels and linens. Scroll down below to see the vendor credits.

Wow! Love the colours! I have just visited your shop and will definitely be buying some of your pinwheels and cupcake cases! Are you able to tell me where you got the candy for the cake and the gumballs?

  • Lexy

Is it possible to find out what you used to decorate the cake? It is just beautiful. It looks like gum squares but I’m sure that was not used for a kid’s cake. Oh, I’m hoping it’s not a secret. Please share. Thanks.

  • Gosh, hope it isn’t too late to reply to this, Lexy! I decorated the cake with tiny tots – teeny, tiny square boiled lollies. x

  • is that a brand of hard candy…? I’m having trouble finding any! TIA!
