Turn your Closet into Confections: Ruffles!

We’re back with another Turn Your Closet into Confections.  We had our first TYCIC on the last day of fashion week here.  Today we’re exploring ruffles!  Who doesn’t love the romantic, cascading ruffles that we so often see on dresses, collars, and skirts?  We were inspired by the Aire Barcelona wedding dress and Dior ruffled bag, but we bet if you go into your closet you’ll find something with ruffles! You can see how ruffled detail works so beautifully on madeleines, the frosting of a buttercream cupcakes, and that oh so lovely ruffled cake.  We put in some other ruffled details like cupcake liners and a ruffled cupcake wrapper topiary to get your imagination with ruffles going.  We could play with ruffled details on our dessert tables all day long!

  1. That dress is stunning. I want to get married all over again.

  2. I love this idea – fashion –>desserts! Both passions of mine and RUFFLES! Omgosh! The ruffle cake is taunting me – it’s been on my list for too long and ever time I see it I just want to shake my finger at it and say, “Oh yes…I WILL make you!” ;)

  3. I just love ruffles. My birthday is on Wednesday and I plan to try my first ruffle layer cake. :)
