Amy Atlas Moment: Butterflies and Bird Cages

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions, Kids

This sweet Amy Atlas Moment was sent to us by Ryan Aquino.  We LOVE the fact that we finally received a submission from a man!  Ryan is an Art Director and mentioned in his submission that he has “no experience in party planning”. When his sister-in-law asked him for help in planning a butterfly tea party for his sweet little niece, how could he say no? After a little research, he happened upon our dessert tables and was inspired to do one of his own. His sister-in-law had two requests: no light pink and no balloons. Ryan was inspired by a pattern he saw in a furniture store. He took that design and used it to create invitations, placemats, soda labels and candy tags. Ryan found the Poms on Etsy to add a little pizzazz to the party. Sweet treats included cupcakes, cotton candy, flavored mallows and macarons (made by his pastry chef sister, Larissa). Larissa also made the cakes for the party. For a sweet tea party favor, he wrapped tea bags from Dean & Deluca in pretty decorative paper. Ryan may have a new career in party planning after this. This party rocks. I couldn’t even get my husband to even go to his daughter’s tea party let alone plan it. Good for you. I agree with Amy that you may have a career in party planning. Your event is as good as it gets. Thanks for sharing your unique perspective. I look forward to seeing more of your creativity in the future.
