Around the “Atlas”: Guatemala

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions

It is always amazing to me to see how far our inspiration reaches. It is exciting and humbling at the same time. This feature came all the way from Guatemala. We love the fact that the dessert table trend has made its way over to Central America, and that we get to share these dessert tables from Around the Atlas.  Hans from Wunderkeks (German for wonder cookies) created this table for the launch of her friends website, The Housewife Wannabee.  The event also was a fundraiser for Funsepa, a foundation which helps set up computer labs for schools in rural Guatemala. Hans chose a Marie Antoinette meets glam theme. Sweet treats included cake pops, macarons, pink dusted meringue and those really fun “Let Them Eat Cake” cookies. This was the first table that Hans created and we hope to see more. What a great party for a sweet fundraiser.

    WOW!!!
As a fellow Guatemalan, and FunSepa supporter, I must say this makes me INCREDIBLY proud of Hans and also of the organizers for the event. I never thought their efforts would make it onto your page, although I´ve always considered their efforts to be world class. My sincerest and most effusive CONGRATULATIONS to Hans Christian/WUNDERKEKS for such a magnificent job, to Escenica for the planning of the Event, to The Housewife Wannabe for the launching of their blogsite. I believe all 3 to be simply exceptional at what each of them do. A heartfelt WELL DONE!!! to all.
