Labor Day Post

By: Amy Atlas, in Amy's Latest

Like many Americans, this coming week will be a very emotional one for me. I remember September 11, 2001 like it was yesterday.  I was on the Upper West Side of Manhattan when the first plane hit the World Trade Center. I can’t believe it has been a decade since that fateful day.  Today is Labor Day. I want to dedicate my post today to those people who are tirelessly working to rebuild the World Trade Center and all of the people who lost their lives trying to save someone else. If you have not seen what downtown Manhattan will soon look like, please take a look here. It is truly amazing. Happy Labor Day everyone.  I hope you had a safe and wonderful weekend.

I remember that day like it was yesterday, it was 2 months before I was due to get married and it was a Tuesday, I called into work sick and I couldn’t move off the lounge as I was in shock and couldn’t believe this was possible or even happening!!! 5 years later we plucked up the courage to fly to NY on our anniversary and the entire experience was emotional. It been another 5 years and we plan on visiting again and see all of the wonderful things that have been done to remember those loved one’s. A huge hug from Australia on this day to remember regardless where you live. Love Rxx
