Behind the Scenes with Amy Atlas – Back to Baking

By: Amy Atlas, in Amy's Latest, Behind The Scenes

I was back in the kitchen yesterday for a fun, holiday baking editorial project.  My kids were away for the day and it gave me a chance to do some serious testing all day.  Lucky for them, I saved lots of festive treats for them.  There were eggnog cookies with homemade eggnog, peppermint and gingerbread treats, and even a Nutella dessert {more to come on this as the holidays approach}.  With Hurricane Irene on its way to NYC, we’ll be staying inside this weekend and eating all of our treats.  If you live in the Hurricane zone, what will you be doing?

  • I am in Massachusetts hurricane zone and in a coastal town. I haven’t thought too much about it, but staying in and eating treats sounds like a good way to spend a hurricane!

  • What a great picture! :o) I would love to see you do a baking tutorial on one of your favorite desserts!

  • I live in Australia so “Safe Zone” lol — that wont stop me from eating treats tho haha! Tonight I baked a white cake with buttercream frosting, red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and vanilla cupcakes with berry cheesecake frosting all the scoff down tomorrow (and for some people who are over to help build a shed)

Stay safe everyone during the hurricane <3
