Feeling Green Guest Dessert Feature

By: Amy Atlas, in Featured Submissions

Going green/eco-friendly has finally become more mainstream.  I know that I am constantly trying to do my part to be eco-friendly.  A few things I try to do…I always bring my own bags (or recycle ones I have) when I buy groceries, unplug all electronics when I am not using them, and make sure I separate all recyclables when disposing of garbage.  This submission came to us and we thought..WOW, this is gorgeously green and creative. Yolanda from Savoy The Socialite styled this Green Girl Garden Party.  She wanted to show people that you can have a wonderfully creative party and still be environmentally savvy. I love the use of the recycled burlap as runners for the table. She also featured a Naturopathic Practitioner that introduced the party to environmentally friendly essential oils for the allergy season.

What do you do to try to be “Greener”?

  • Oh my, this is one of the best parties you’ve posted yet! So fresh and still cozy!

  • Such a pretty color palette!

  • I like the incorporation of sustainability into this dessert table. Some of the things I do to incorporate “greening” my dessert tables are using old wine bottles, mason jars from pickles or pasta sauces, upcycled fabrics, and reusing block of styrofoam. Great post! Thanks for sharing.

  • I love the tropical burst of red against the green! Lovely!

What a way to GO GREEN!!! Amazing =) I was wondering where you found your mini wooden planter/vase? A friend of mine is getting married October this year and was looking for something like that for her gifts for her guests. She would be so elated to have that information.

    Thank you,
    Nani

    • The planters come from Ikea. A great inexpensive find. You can paint them or even use them as table numbers for a wedding reception. I am in love with the planters and they make great gifts for your friend and her guests.

I have started to bring my own “to-go” containers to restaurants to pack up my leftovers. Makes me feel like I’m doing my part of helping the environment by eliminating my use of styrofoam.
