We’re a little behind this week with posts because of our book project. We’ll be back to update you on what has been going on behind the scenes, but in the meantime enjoy this beautiful guest feature from Janelle and Samone from Cake Ink. This party was held on a lovely homestead called Eynesbury Estate, which is just outside Melbourne. Janelle and Samone created this vintage tea party in honor of Mother’s day, but the design is also perfect for an afternoon tea party with the ladies or a bridal shower. The simple white linen, scalloped eyelet garland, and pretty china gives the table a delicate feel.
For desserts, Janelle and Samone had some traditional Australian sweets like scones with jam and cream and yo yo cookies. They mixed some homemade desserts like the flawless cake, with store bought desserts like macaroons from Lindts. I love mixing homemade and store bought desserts (like we did here.) It makes entertaining a lot easier when you don’t feel like you are responsible for making every single item. It is okay to mix and match!
PS – The cake, custom invitations, favors and photography were all by Cake Ink. So sweet and elegant!
