Today, we are bringing a little sunshine to your day by way of Amy and Brianna from The Savvy Moms Guide.  We are finally starting to thaw out in NYC.  It has been a LOOOONG winter.  So when we saw this post, we truly felt like Spring had sprung.  The colors bounce off of the page.  Every Spring, Amy and Brianna host a planting party to welcome in the new season.  They plant citrus trees native to their hometown, California. This year’s party was based on a citrus collection that Anders Ruff created for them.  Ingredients for the day…sunshine, water and lots of fun.  The kids were provided with all the essentials…gloves, shovels, food, and drinks.  Set atop their orchard, a planters rack served as the table.  Amy and Brianna dressed the rack with a sunshine banner, an orange burlap runner, clay pots, and a citrus wreath.  Desserts included lime, lemon and orange sugar cookies from SugarBelle Cookies, as well as lemon tarts.

As the sun went down, guests were sent home with lemons from the trees that were planted the year prior with a tag that said “enjoy”.  Enjoy we did!   What a way to welcome sunshine!

  19. Love this idea! I serve off of my Potting Bench as well and it is the exact same bench, which I got many years ago at Costco. Although I LOVE my Savannah Beverage Server better, which has a metal stand with basket to add flare to the look! Plus you can use it without the stand! CHeck it out on my website http://Lindaburt.Willowhouse.com Online Catalog pg 26 &27 #41087 . Let me know what you think, won’t you?
