Rule Britannia High Tea Guest Feature

Just a few weeks before the big Royal Wedding, Bird of Bird’s Party sent over some Royal inspiration with her printable party collection.  Bird created an English High-Tea Party theme, with a chic Rule Britannia meets feminine Cath Kidston vibe.   The printable party collection includes elements like the Union Jack, golden crowns, the English rose, vintage lace, and a corgis.  In addition to serving English blends, the desserts for this table included traditional English sweets like homemade scones filled with clotted cream and raspberry jam, cherry and almond slices, custard tarts, shortbread biscuits, meringue, and fresh fruit with cream.  This looks like a Royal High-Tea.  Thanks for all of the pretty and unique inspiration Bird!

Looks beautiful and I love all the stationary. One BIG note: High Tea in the UK is actually dinner/supper. The meal with scones & tea sandwiches & little desserts is called Afternoon Tea. The tradition began in the 19th century to keep people from feeling hungry between lunchtime and dinner time, hence being called Afternoon Tea. People get confused and call it High Tea because they think it’s a fancy name to go with a fancy meal, which isn’t the case as High Tea (and Afternoon Tea) refers to the time of day (high being late in the day) the meal is eaten.
