It was a very cold day yesterday in the big apple and what better way to warm our souls than some comfort food.  We hopped in a cab and headed down to Soho to a delightful little place called Rice to Riches.  All I can say is YUM!   Every day, they have 21 different flavors of Rice Pudding to choose from with names like Take Me to Tiramisu, Almond Shmalmond, Fluent in French Toast and Perfectly Legal Pecan Pie.  Each bite is a virtual explosion of flavor.  We were lucky enough to try a bunch of flavors, get a tour of the store and see how the pudding is made.   The store can make anybody warm on a bitter winter day.

  1. Wao!!!!! Amazing maybe some day open in Puerto Rico!!

  2. You guys are too cute! Too bad we don’t have a Rice to Riches in the bay area, but then again I’d probably be 10lbs heavier ;) I am, however inspired to make my own rice pudding, sounds divine!

  3. Fascinating idea, from a world where we still make riz au lait baked in the oven, I think I would prefer a more old fashioned setting or at least non plastic serving dishes particularly if the quality is there as you seem to indicate.

  12. In 2006, when I was still living and studying in New York, I bumped into Rice to Riches and fell in love immediately! I would walk from my school all the way there driven by the thought of a bowl of Old Fashion Vanilla Rice Pudding topped with cherries! Thank you for sharing it, Amy! You brought up in my mind gorgeous memories! Have an amazing summer!
