Our First Vlog!

I’m back today with our first vlog ever! Okay, a few things to keep in mind before we start…

#1 – We’re not production people so this is not our expertise so bear with us as we show you behind-the-scenes vlogs! Yes, the sound wasn’t great at points, but we’ll master that soon enough.

#2 – This was taken while propping around yesterday. We did this completely on a whim and decided to throw it up here anyway. Between a segment on Martha Radio and an early morning up with the kids, I was up at 4am so it is not my best moment ever. Yes, I’m lacking makeup, sporting crazy hair after being drenched in the rain, and we were bopping around in a taxi with a very fast taxi driver, but you’re getting a true behind-the-scenes at Amy Atlas Events. {Hopefully, this won’t come back to haunt me!}

#3 – Since we didn’t plan it out in advance, I didn’t get a chance to speak with some of my fave peeps at these places, but we’ll plan interviews for the future so each and every vendor can share with you their expertise. We also had a few mishaps along the way, but again, that is how it really is behind-the-scenes at Amy Atlas Events.

Okay, I’m excited for you to take a peek at how we race around some of our fave places with the landscape of Manhattan behind us. I can’t reveal what project we’re working on, but I’ll be back in the fall to tell you more about it. Come on in and take a peek into our world at Amy Atlas Events!

Ps – Big shout out to our intern Rachael who figured out how to create a vlog! The videocamera had been collecting dust, but Rachael mastered it in no time at all!

    Can you name the place you went to again – the prop place and the art store name- I could not here properly . Thank you

    • Amy

      Prop Company. Just as an fyi – it is only open to the trade (stylists and event planners).

    • Amy

      The art store is Lee’s Art Shop.

  • This is TOO fun! I love the tour of NYC’s best crafty places! 🙂

  • Creative new twist to your blog! Great to see you in action! Not sure if you have a Flip yet? We just got one it is great for everything especially with children when you are on the go~

  • I’m so excited about this new dimension of your blog. The vlog really gives you a face (no pun intended) and an honest perspective of how much time, work and energy you put into your incredible work! One suggestion: I’m hearing impaired and would love it if you could list/link the great vendors and sources you share in the post that goes with the vlog. I realize that captioning the videos would be very time-consuming so this would help all of us who may not hear some of what you say. Thanks again for all you do! You are so inspirational.

      Good suggestion, Paula! We will do that! We’ll also work on the sound. Today was such a last minute video with no prep so sound should be better in the future. Happy to take suggestions, this certainly isn’t our expertise so it’s helpful to get suggestions!

  • Hi Amy,

    I LOVE all of those stores you’ve been to. Was at M&J just the other day. Aren’t you excited that Michael’s is now in the city! I wish there was a Joann’s as well. Have never been to Prop Company though. It’s fun to put a voice to the face! 🙂
